Letter to Mrs. Holman

“She is what kept some of the pieces together by always being there for me and constantly reminding me that the only person who I needed approval from is myself. She is my rock and takes me out of my spiral and helps me recognize my worth when I do not see it.”

Dear Mrs. Holman,

Thank you for being such an inspiration to HEX: #a76ba7, she believes you have impacted her tremendously. You have been a huge part as to why the images were composed a certain way for the dissemination of Ainsley’s story. I, especially, appreciate how much of an inspiration you have been in Ainsley’s life to help her grow and constantly remind her that she is a beautiful human being and that no one else’s opinion matters, but her own. Hearing your impact in her life really helped me capture the story of Ainsley in the best way possible for this project.

Based off of my interview with Ainsley, You are HEX CODE: #A93226 because you are strong, loving, and passionate. Ainsley appreciates you for those qualities. Your HEX CODE has the emphasis of strength and love. Strength and love go hand-in-hand and you have implemented those qualities into raising your daughter. As a mother who radiates self-love and self-acceptance, you are vaccinating Ainsley against low self-esteem. This leads me into stating the components of your character that are translated into a unique color HEX CODE which I made for you and is named after you.

MRS. HOLMAN: HEX: #A93226
You are red. You are the color of the heart. The heart is the reason why our bodies function the way they do, they provide life. You are the pump that keeps Ainsley moving forward. You are the reason why Ainsley has found strength behind her imposter syndrome. Having a personality of the color red means you will stand up for the people you love and make sure you will do anything to make sure they are happy and believing in themselves. You don't underestimate the power of day-to-day motivation and inspiration in her life. You teach Ainsley to worry less about fitting into glass slippers and more about shattering glass ceilings.

Being the color of the heart, however, you have common experiences of palpitations and changes in respiration in response to emotion. You bring up the hard hitting questions even in situations where it may be uncomfortable to talk about them with her. You believe that the honest opinion or truth is the one that will help people turn into their best self even if it is hard to hear.

As a strong and loving mother, you also know when it is right not to speak any words and just live and enjoy the carefree moments.

A moment between you and Ainsley that exemplified your characteristics and your relationship with her is when you both were having the time of your lives in the car driving to Ainsley’s first day of her boarding school.

“My favorite memory with my mom was when I got dropped off at a new school senior year. I was nervous and anxious about starting a new boarding school senior year. My mom put the windows down and we were just talking and singing with no care in the world. I felt so much less anxious. It was liberating, she is so good with quelling my anxiety with outside things. That was one of my favorite memories with my mom.”

Ainsley believes walking through life with you has been an amazing journey; she honors you and the rest of the years you both will have together. Continue to embrace and support the people you care about, those red elements of your personality are what is going to strengthen the people you surround yourself with.

Keep being the protective blanket that provides Ainsley with warmth.:)

Warmly,

Siena Pennington

**This is the photo in her story that you were the inspiration for the use of exposure, composition, and lighting.**

In this image, the faded red beneath the purple on the skin is you. You are the protection that keeps elements of her mask whole. You cover her entire face and body and are also prominent in her reflection. As she is being sucked into the mirror, the only parts of the image that are not blurred are the faint red lines going on her body and face. This is the reminder for her that she is very valued and that her imposter syndrome should not take over her perception of herself.
